Barbie Doll
This poem confronted conformity, a lifestyle we are taught is normal. It sheds light on the fear instilled by society and the dangerous effects it has. I don't think there is anything wrong with looking like barbie, however, if you don't, there is nothing wrong with that either. I feel as though, people shouldn't be biased towards another's point of view or lifestyle and rather embrace it.

Generally right about the opening remarks--see also others' blogs and my comments. Can't quite see how the last statement relates to the thematic tensions and conflicts imaged in the poem, thoiugh...
ReplyDeleteThere is a problem in society though, that sterotypes women that we should look and act a certain way. We have come along way, it should not be this way.
ReplyDeleteThat is true but if you look at how close minded people are in present day America you will notice that there will always be hate towards whatever type of physical appearance someone takes on
