In Golden Gate Park that Day

This poem was a great look on the relationship between two people who think differently and are motivated by different factors. The hints in the poem were subtle such as the mans beat up flute and the womans bunch of grapes. The ending of the poem is very blunt. It sums up the consequences of being motivated by external factors. This poem was inspiring and a great reality check for women who can relate to it.

    Some questions (as the birds seem to be asking)to follow up: what specifically do you mean by thinking "differently and... motivated by differnt factors"? How does the relate to the flute an grapes? what are these "external factors? Are the revelations of the poem, whatever they may be, relevant only to women? So far, this is a bit too general to figure a specific response. How do we account for the

  2. look of terrible depression at the end, a no "particular expression" that contrasts with the non-particular (or generalized) serenity? How/why this dark spot on (or seeping through) the apparently idyllic surface?
